Modi government has given a big gift to lakhs of central government employees and pensioners today and the Union cabinet has approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. This decision will benefit 49.18 lakh central government employees and along with this, 64.89 lakh pensioners will also benefit from it. government employees will get benefits like salary hike, other allowances along with salary and increase in basic salary. A new pay commission is formed by the government of india every 10 years.

Minimum salary in the 8th Pay Commission can go up to Rs 34,560

If the fitment factor is made 1.92 in the 8th Pay Commission, then with its help the minimum salary of government employees in the country can increase from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 34,560. At the same time, the minimum pension of pensioners retired from government jobs can reach Rs 17,280. Based on some media reports, the government can settle for a factor of 1.92 under the 8th Pay Commission. According to some reports, the government will opt for a higher fitment factor of at least 2.86.

How much did the salary increase in the 7th Pay Commission

During the shift from the 6th Pay Commission to the 7th Pay Commission, the government kept the fitment factor at 2.57. With the help of this fitment factor, the minimum salary of central employees increased from Rs 7000 to Rs 18 thousand. Apart from this, the minimum pension also increased from Rs 3500 to Rs 9000. The maximum salary of the employees working had come down to Rs 2.50 lakh. The maximum pension for pensioners also went up to Rs 1.25 lakh.

Who gives recommendations to the government for the formation of the Pay Commission

The Pay Commission submits its recommendations to the government regarding the salary, allowances, rank structure and pension of central employees, All india Services, Union Territories, officers and employees associated with the indian Audit and Accounts Department, employees and officials associated with the Regulatory Authority, officers and employees of the supreme court and personnel associated with the Defense Forces.
