The effect of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's strict instructions on land law violation in uttarakhand has started showing. Under the comprehensive action across the state, violations have been reported in 279 cases so far, out of which cases have been registered on 243. This action is being taken to prevent misuse of land law in the state and to curb illegal land purchase and sale. In september 2024, chief minister Dhami had ordered strict action on violation of land law. After this, the district Magistrates started registering cases. According to the report received so far, till the first fortnight of december 2024, violation of land law was found in 279 cases, out of which cases have been registered on 243 cases.
Action taken in these districts
A total of 3.006 hectares of land has been vested in the government in six cases within three months. This action was taken in Bageshwar, Udham Singh nagar, nainital and almora districts on the orders of the administration. In these districts, strict action is being taken against those who violate land laws. Cases of violation of land laws include purchase of 250 square meters of land without permission in municipal areas, violation of permission in purchasing more than 12.5 acres of land and irregularities in the purchase of land for agricultural, commercial and industrial use.
Details of action district wise
Most cases: nainital (79), dehradun (78), and Udham Singh nagar (37).
Cases registered: dehradun (70), Haridwar (22), and almora (8).
Land seizure: almora (3 cases), Bageshwar, Udham Singh nagar and nainital (1 case each).
Violation in 279 cases
However, in many districts, cases have still not been registered in all the cases. In which proceedings are going on and the government will soon speed up the process of settling these cases. To prevent violation of land law in uttarakhand, action is being taken under Section 154 (4) (3) of the Zamindari Destruction and Land Reforms Act. According to the report received till december 11, 2024, permission for land purchase was given in a total of 1495 cases in 13 districts of the state. Out of these, violation of rules was found in 279 cases. chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "Land law will not be allowed to be misused in the state. Strict action is being taken against the cases in which violation has taken place so far. It will be ensured that no one can dare to do such a thing in future." He indicated that a strict land law will be implemented in the state soon.
