Before the delhi Assembly elections, the Municipal Corporation of delhi (MCD) has started an innovative initiative in Karol Bagh and rohini zones to encourage voter participation in the elections. Both zones have announced special discounts for voters, aimed at motivating people to exercise their democratic rights. In fact, MCD has more than 500 guest houses, 30 restaurants and 32 sweet shops in Karol Bagh zone. Keeping this in mind, MCD has announced to give 'democracy discount' to voters with the aim of increasing the voting percentage. Every voter who casts his vote can avail the benefits of this scheme of MCD.
15 to 20 percent discount
According to the announcement made by the Municipal Corporation of delhi, to avail the benefit of 'democracy discount', voters will have to show the ink mark on their finger. Under this initiative, launched in collaboration with the Public health Department of Karol Bagh Zone, voters will have to show proof of voting by showing an indelible ink mark on their index finger.

Karol Bagh Zone Deputy Commissioner abhishek kumar Mishra stressed the importance of this initiative. He said, "Voting is the cornerstone of democracy. With 'Democracy Discount', we aim to inspire more people to participate in the electoral process and raise their voice. Every vote matters for a strong democracy. This initiative is our way of thanking voters for their commitment."
25 percent discount in rohini Zone
Similarly, rohini Zone has announced a discount of 25 percent for voters in select food establishments, guest houses and cinemas in its jurisdiction. Let us tell you that about 29 establishments in rohini Zone will provide this discount. rohini Zone MCD officer said that the aim of this initiative is also to target first-time voters. They can avail the discount by showing the ink mark on their finger.
