Strengthening the security system in view of the delhi Assembly elections and Republic Day, the Anti-Narcotics team of South-West district has exposed a big network of liquor smuggling. Acting on the basis of secret information, the team has arrested an accused who was smuggling liquor from haryana to Delhi. According to the police, the accused had challenged the police after being inspired by the movie "Fast and Furious". He had said "Catch me if you can". DCP South West Surendra Chaudhary said that the arrested accused has been identified as Sagar alias Monty who is a member of the notorious amit Palmia gang. 2980 quarters of illegal liquor have been recovered from the accused, which includes country liquor and foreign liquor. Apart from this, a maruti Eco van being used in smuggling has also been seized.

The driver of the smugglers' vehicle challenged the police

Actually, the Anti Narcotics team had received information that a maruti Eco van and a black Scorpio were coming to delhi from haryana for smuggling liquor. The police laid a trap near Green Orchid Farm in Kapasahera area. At around 7:15 am, a white maruti Eco van and a black Scorpio behind it were seen coming from NH-48. The police signaled the van to stop but instead of stopping, the driver hit the police vehicle and tried to run away.

While fleeing, the driver challenged the police to catch him if you can. The police chased and stopped the van but the driver of the Scorpio fled from the spot. A large consignment of liquor was recovered during the search of the van. This included banned desi liquor and foreign liquor sold in Haryana.

The case is registered in Lajpat nagar police station of Delhi

During interrogation, Sagar revealed that this liquor was bought from haryana and was to be supplied to local smugglers in different areas of Delhi. The accused told that he works for amit Palmia gang and this smuggling was being done on his instructions. According to the police, a case has already been registered against the accused in Lajpat nagar police station of Delhi. Interrogation of the accused is going on.
