The delhi high court on monday refused to hear the petition seeking a ban on the promotion of the Aam Aadmi Party's promise to give Rs 2100 every month to the women of the national capital. Earlier, the delhi high court had adjourned the hearing to january 30 after the petitioner's lawyer did not appear during the hearing of the case.

Earlier on january 9, 2025, a bench of Justice Jyoti Singh had asked the petitioner Vijay Kumar how the election petition on this issue is admissible? The court had also said that the petitioner should first file a PIL. However, the bench directed the petitioner Vijay Kumar to present arguments on the maintainability of the petition on january 10. Let us tell you that the delhi government had denied the existence of any such scheme.

'AAP's announcement is tempting'

Actually, petitioner Vijay Kumar had filed a petition regarding Mahila Samman Yojana and told the court that aam aadmi party (AAP) is luring voters by making false announcements, this is a violation of election rules.

Let us tell you that former delhi CM and AAP national convenor arvind kejriwal had made a big announcement on december 12. He had said that women of delhi will get Rs 2100 per month after the assembly elections. He had also said that women will not get the benefit of this scheme right now. If his party forms the government after the elections, then this money will be given to the women of delhi every month. The same announced scheme of arvind kejriwal was challenged by petitioner Vijay Kumar in the high court, on which the high court has refused to hear immediately.
