Allegations of alleged collusion with hedge funds on Nate Anderson, who announced the closure of Hindenburg Research, an eight-year-old research-investment company, have raised a new controversy. A Canadian portal has given this information citing documents filed in an Ontario court. These documents claim that Nate Anderson had shared research with hedge fund Anson.

Questions raised on the relationship between hedge funds and Hindenburg

Hedge funds raise capital from large investors and invest in different securities and financial instruments. According to reports, the email conversation between Nate Anderson and Anson has made it clear that Anson has played an active role in preparing Hindenburg's negative report. Anson had given instructions to prepare the report, which included things like the format of the report and setting the target price.

The portal Market Frauds has claimed that the things said in these emails show that Nate Anderson was not working independently. The reports published by him followed the instructions of Anson Funds.

Allegations based on court documents

In documents filed in the Ontario Superior court of Justice, Moez Kasam, head of Canada's Anson Hedge Fund, has admitted that his company shared information with Hindenburg Research. However, this partnership was not disclosed, which could lead to a fraud case by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Such collusion between hedge funds and research companies in the case of securities can harm the interests of investors. As part of the strategy to drop the share price of companies by issuing bearish reports, hedge funds can make more profits by placing parallel bets.

Controversial history of Hindenburg

Hindenburg Research has been in controversies before. Recently, the allegations of fraud against the adani Group brought the company into the limelight. After the report on the adani Group, questions were raised on Hindenburg's credibility and objectives. Now, the case of alleged collusion with hedge funds may further weaken the credibility of this company.
