On finding of documents and other deficiencies, challan of vehicles is being issued online across the country and sent to the vehicle owner. This system of the Transport Department is fine but many times people get troubled unnecessarily. The latest case is from Rohtas in Bihar. Paramendra Singh, a resident of Loribandh village of Karakat police station area, had his vehicle (harvester) at his home but the challan was issued in lucknow (Uttar Pradesh). When Paramendra Singh received a message of a challan of Rs 5000, he got a big shock. In this case, he has applied in Karakat police station last sunday (January 19).

What is the whole matter?

Paramendra Singh, son of Rambachan Singh, a resident of Loribandh village, has a harvester vehicle (number BR 24 GC 8388). This vehicle has been standing outside his house for months. Paramendra Singh said that the challan of his vehicle (harvester) was issued in lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh on 15 january 2025 at 1:45 pm. On checking the online details from the challan number, it was found that a picture of a truck was taken and uploaded and a fine of Rs 5000 was imposed.

Paramendra Singh complained to the police station

After receiving this message, Paramendra Singh applied to Karakat police station on 19 January. In the application, he has given complete information in this regard. Karakat Additional police station Head ravi Bhushan Kumar said that the application of vehicle owner Paramendra Singh has been received. He says that his vehicle has not gone to lucknow, let alone Uttar Pradesh. Investigation of the matter has been started. Information will be sent to the concerned officials.

On the other hand, such incidents are once again raising questions on the fairness of the e-challan system and its process. This has become a big problem for vehicle owners because many times challans are being issued without any reason. Let us tell you that the main objective of the e-challan system was to bring transparency in the transport department and to stop corruption. Many vehicle owners say that through this system they often have to face wrong challans. This is not only wasting time but they are also getting affected financially.
