Provide evidence of yamuna contamination by 8 pm today, the election commission instructs Arvind Kejriwal.

On Tuesday, the election commission reached out to the head of the aam aadmi party and the former delhi chief minister arvind kejriwal, requesting evidence for his assertions that haryana was infusing "poison" into the yamuna water to disrupt the supply to the national capital.

The electoral body requested kejriwal to deliver his response by 8 pm on Wednesday.

Previously, the polling authority had instructed the haryana government to present a factual report by january 28 concerning claims of elevated ammonia levels in the water supplied from haryana to Delhi.

While speaking at an election gathering on january 27, kejriwal remarked, "Nothing is a more grave offense than depriving people of water. The bjp is attempting to keep the people of delhi parched because of its corrupt politics. They are introducing poison into the water being delivered from Haryana. "

"This contaminated water is so hazardous that it cannot be treated by the water treatment facilities available in Delhi. The bjp aims to carry out mass murder of the residents of Delhi. We will not allow this to occur," the AAP leader stated.

Sources indicate that the haryana government is considering initiating a defamation lawsuit against kejriwal in response to his statements.
