CM Atishi's letter to ec, the level of ammonia being released!
delhi chief minister Atishi has written a letter to the Chief election Commissioner demanding immediate intervention regarding the ammonia-containing poisonous water being released by the haryana government into the yamuna for Delhi. She has said in the letter that the election commission should intervene and direct the haryana government to either release ammonia-free pure raw water for delhi or give additional water to reduce the ammonia level.
The delhi chief minister said that at present the level of ammonia in the water being released by the haryana government into the yamuna for delhi is 6 times more than normal, which is extremely poisonous for a person. It is not possible to clean this water and supply it to the people of Delhi. Because it can endanger their lives. cm Atishi has also sought time from the Chief election Commissioner to hold a meeting today with the demand to stop external interference in the delhi elections.
'Efforts are being made to disrupt water supply'
In a letter to the Chief election Commissioner on tuesday (January 28), cm Atishi has said that efforts are being made to influence free and fair elections in Delhi. I had exposed this matter on 27 january 2025 that the haryana government is deliberately trying to disrupt the water supply of the people of Delhi. I am also sharing a note submitted by the CEO of delhi Jal Board to the Chief Secretary of delhi on 27 january 2025 on this matter.
'Ammonia content is constantly increasing'
He said that it is clearly stated in the note of the CEO of delhi Jal Board that the water treatment plants of delhi Jal Board can clean ammonia only up to 1 ppm. It is also stated in the note that the amount of ammonia is constantly increasing due to the mixing of untreated sewage and industrial waste in the water of yamuna river coming to delhi from Haryana. In the last two days, the ammonia level has reached 7 ppm, which is 700 percent more than the treatment limit.
About 34 lakh people are being affected
The cm said that due to the toxic amount of ammonia in the water from haryana, Delhi's water treatment plants are finding it difficult to clean the water properly. Due to this, the water supply in delhi has decreased by 15 to 20 percent, that is, about 34 lakh people are being affected. It is clear that high ammonia in water can have a bad effect on health, such as kidney disease, breathing problems, and can also cause long-term damage to body organs.
