Dhami government's big decision, uniform user charge applicable!

The uttarakhand government has taken a big step regarding health services and has made the user charge related to treatment uniform in all the government medical colleges and their affiliated hospitals in the state. After this decision, now the same rate will be applicable in all the hospitals for slip, bed and ambulance. Due to this, patients will not have to face unnecessary financial inequality during treatment and health services will be more streamlined and transparent. There are currently five government medical colleges operating in the state, including Doon Medical college, Haldwani Medical college, srinagar Medical college, almora Medical college and Haridwar Medical College. Apart from these, the hospitals of rudrapur and Pithoragarh Medical Colleges under construction will also come under the purview of this new system.

It will be implemented

Till now, the fees related to treatment in the hospitals of medical colleges in the state were different, due to which patients had to face confusion. The rates of OPD slip, IPD slip, bed charge, ambulance service and pathology test were different in every medical college, due to which patients had to bear unnecessary financial burden. To remove this inequality, the government was planning to implement uniform rates for a long time, which has now been implemented.

health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said that now a uniform user charge has been implemented in all government medical colleges. Under this, the fee for OPD slip will be Rs 20 and the fee for IPD slip will be Rs 50. The fee per bed has been fixed at Rs 25 for general ward, Rs 300 for private ward and Rs 1000 per bed for AC ward. Apart from this, the fare for the first five kilometers for ambulance service will be Rs 200, while after that Rs 20 will be charged per kilometer.

How much will be the charge?

The Dhami government has fixed the fee for important tests like X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan, MRI and dialysis in medical colleges in accordance with the rates of central government health Scheme (CGHS). According to the new rates, Rs 133 will have to be paid for X-ray, Rs 570 for ultrasound, Rs 1350 for CT scan, Rs 2848 for MRI and Rs 1400 for dialysis. The money received as user charges in government medical colleges and their associated hospitals will be used to improve the facilities for the general public.
