Dhami government has made a special strategy!
The Forest Department and Disaster Management Department have geared up to control the incidents of forest fire in Uttarakhand. The fire season is supposed to start from february 15, and before that a mock drill will be conducted in seven districts on february 13 to test the preparations. Before the mock drill, an important meeting will be held on february 11, in which its preparations will be reviewed. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is cooperating in this entire process.
Along with this, the Forest Department has appointed nodal officers to make forest fire control and management effective in the districts before the fire season. This time 10 Chief Forest Conservator, Additional Chief Forest Conservator and Chief Conservator level officers have been given the responsibility of different districts. The Forest Department has assigned the responsibility to the nodal officers for forest fire control and management, who will review the district-wise preparations before the fire season. The main task of these officers will be to take necessary steps for the prevention, control and management of forest fire incidents. Also, they will work to prepare district level forest department teams and train them to deal with fire
Mock drill will be held in seven districts of Uttarakhand
According to the Forest Department, this time the mock drill will be organized in seven districts of the state. During this, employees and officers of various departments will also participate in it. This mock drill will be done to check the preparations to deal with fire in the forests, so that there can be better coordination between all the agencies in any emergency. Forest department officials say that through this drill it will be seen how fast the forest personnel and disaster management teams are able to start the process of extinguishing the fire and whether all the safety equipment and resources are being used properly or not.
The Forest Department is also adopting a new strategy in the fire season this year. A successful forest fire management model has already been implemented in Sheetlakhet under almora Forest Division, which will now be implemented in other forest divisions of the state as well. Under the Sheetalakhet model, special training is given to local forest personnel and members of forest fire management committees. They are informed about the immediate response in case of fire, the measures to be taken to prevent the spread of fire and control it. To make this model effective, forest personnel and committee members are also being taken on tours so that they can implement this technique in their areas.
