Officials submitted report to cm Yogi on Mahakumbh stampede...
The Chief Secretary of the state government and director General of Uttar Pradesh police prashant kumar have submitted their report on the stampede during the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Both the officials have submitted the report to chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Both the officers visited the spot on Thursday, 30 January. After coming from there, both the officers also met the Chief Minister.
Before cm Yogi's visit to Gorakhpur on Friday, 31 January, both the officers met cm Yogi today and submitted their preliminary report. In this meeting, both the officers also gave information about the Amrit Snan to be held on Basant Panchami on february 3.
According to the information, both the officers talked to cm Yogi for half an hour.
Judicial Commission reached Prayagraj
On the other hand, the three-member judicial commission constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government to investigate the Mahakumbh stampede reached Prayagraj on Friday. This commission, headed by retired Justice Harsh Kumar of allahabad High Court, includes former director General of police V.K. Gupta and retired IAS officer D.K. Singh. An official said, "This commission is holding meetings with the concerned officials here. We can also visit the spot during the day." The three-member judicial commission formed to investigate the maha Kumbh accident started working the very next day of its formation. The official said, "The commission has got one month to investigate, but it will investigate quickly." According to the police, the incident happened because the crowd broke the barricade and moved forward crushing the people sitting on the ghat on the other side. 30 people lost their lives in this incident while 60 people were injured.
