Meanwhile, a petition has been filed in the delhi high court on friday against Aam Aadmi (AAP) candidate and cabinet Minister mukesh Kumar Ahlawat from Sultanpur Majra seat. The petitioner has demanded the high court to cancel the nomination of mukesh Ahlawat.
The petitioner alleges that the nomination of mukesh Kumar Ahlawat, cabinet Minister in the delhi Government, from Sultanpur Majra seat is illegal. The petition filed in the delhi high court also states that AAP candidate mukesh Kumar Ahlawat has hidden other information including criminal cases registered against himself in the election affidavit from the election commission and all other related agencies, hence his nomination should be canceled.
Who is in the race for Sultanpur Majra seat?
This time the bharatiya janata party has fielded Karm Singh Karma as its candidate for Sultanpur Majra seat. AAP has fielded mukesh Kumar Ahlawat and Congress' jai Kishan as its candidates. Sultanpur Mazra assembly seat is a traditional stronghold of Congress. From 1993 to 2013, congress candidates have been winning elections continuously on this seat. congress leader Jaikishan has won the election from here four times. While his wife Sushila has won the election once. In the 2015 elections, AAP candidate sandeep Kumar won from here. While in the 2020 elections, AAP's mukesh Kumar Ahlawat managed to win the election. mukesh Ahlwal is contesting this seat for the second time.
The total number of voters on this seat is around 2.5 lakh. Most of these voters are from Scheduled Caste. This time BJP's Karma Singh Karma is giving a tough fight to AAP's mukesh Kumar Ahlawat and Congress' Jaikishan. However, bjp has not won this seat yet.
