Smuggler arrested from South delhi, 1.47 KG ganja recovered...
Keeping in mind the delhi Assembly elections 2025, South district police is continuously running a strict campaign against crime incidents. Along with this, delhi police is also taking necessary vigilance to maintain a better election environment. With the aim of conducting a completely peaceful election, South district police is running a 'Roko-Toko' campaign, through which suspicious persons are being kept under strict surveillance.
According to DCP South, last night i.e. on january 30, Ambedkar nagar police station stopped a suspicious person while patrolling the area, from whom 1.47 kg of ganja was recovered.
delhi police has identified the accused as 48-year-old venkatesh resident H-Block Madangir. The local police station has arrested the accused and registered a case under section 20 of the NDPS Act. DCP South said that on the night of january 29, a team of Ambedkar nagar police station was patrolling the area. This team included Head Constable Sanjeev, Constable Harkesh and Lady Constable Preeti, who were led by Station house Officer (SHO) Ambedkar Nagar.

When the police team reached the platform located at H-Block Madangir at night, they saw a suspicious person standing there. The police signaled him to stop, but on seeing the police, he got scared and started running. On seeing this, the team showed alertness and chased him and caught him at some distance.
According to DCP South, during interrogation, the accused could not give any satisfactory answer regarding his presence. When the police searched him, 1.47 kg of ganja was recovered from him. The accused was identified as venkatesh, who is a resident of Ambedkar Nagar.

At present, after this action, a case was registered against the accused in Ambedkar nagar police station and he was taken into custody. police is now trying to find out from where he used to bring ganja and to whom he used to supply it.
