Heroin worth Rs 4 crore seized before voting in Delhi...
The code of conduct for assembly elections is in force in Delhi. The Crime Branch is also ready to conduct fair and peaceful voting. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force has got a big success. Two drug suppliers have been arrested with 726 grams of heroin. DCP Crime Branch said that the price of heroin in the international market is said to be more than Rs 4 crore. The drug suppliers have been identified as 48-year-old Lalla Babu and 25-year-old Jitesh alias Jeetu. Both the accused used to supply heroin from Bareilly to Delhi-NCR.
The DCP said that the Anti-Narcotics Task Force of the Crime Branch conducted the operation on secret information. On january 6, information was received that Lalla Babu was going to supply heroin to Vijay alias Daini and Jitesh alias Jeetu. Lalla Babu is said to be the right hand man of Bareilly's notorious drug supplier Nizamuddin alias Nizam. On the information, a team of ACP Rajkumar and Inspector Shiv Kumar was formed. The team was deployed near IHBAS Hospital in Dilshad Garden.
Heroin worth Rs 4 crore recovered
The Crime Branch's Anti-Narcotics Task Force raided and arrested Lalla Babu. During investigation, 502 grams of heroin was recovered from Lalla Babu. During interrogation, it was found that Lalla Babu used to take heroin from Nizamuddin and supply it in delhi and surrounding areas. The investigation continued even after Lalla Babu's arrest. During the investigation, information was received on january 10 that Vijay alias Daini was going to deliver heroin in a car. When the police chased him, Vijay left the car in Krishna nagar and fled.
The Crime Branch and Forensic Team searched the car. During the search, 99 grams of heroin was recovered from the car. The DCP said that Vijay alias Daini is wanted in more than 47 criminal cases and is also a declared criminal of Nand Nagri police station. DCP Crime Branch said that Jitesh alias Jeetu was arrested from anand vihar on january 30. On the information given by Jeetu, 125 grams of heroin was recovered from his house in Nand Nagri.
Profile of drug suppliers:
1. Lalla Babu, a resident of Bareilly, used to sell clothes. Financial crisis in the family pushed him into the drug business. He came in contact with drug mafia Nizamuddin.
2. Jitesh alias Jeetu, a resident of Ghaziabad, has been involved in drug smuggling for years. Five other criminal cases are also said to be registered against Jeetu.
