Voting is to be held on february 5 for the delhi assembly elections. A government holiday has been declared on this day. This notification has been issued on the orders of the Lieutenant Governor. It states that the Lieutenant governor of the National capital Territory of delhi, on the occasion of the general election of the delhi assembly, declares a public holiday on Wednesday, february 5, for all government offices, local/autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings under the government of the National capital Territory of Delhi.

The main contest in delhi is between aam aadmi party, bjp and Congress. But asaduddin owaisi and mayawati have also fielded their candidates in the electoral fray. AAP and congress are contesting all 70 seats in Delhi. bjp is contesting on 68 seats. It has given one seat to ally JDU and one seat to Chirag Paswan's party.
Last time AAP had won 62 seats
In the last assembly elections, aam aadmi party had won 62 seats. The remaining eight seats went to BJP's account. congress could not even open its account.
