Bird flu case in Maharashtra's Mangali poultry farm…

Reports of unusual deaths of chickens were coming from january 25 in the Mangali poultry farm of Brahmapuri tehsil of Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. Samples of dead birds were sent to the laboratory, whose investigation confirmed bird flu infection. Due to this, a radius of 10 km of Mangali area has been declared an 'alert zone'. district Magistrate Vinay Gowda on tuesday directed the concerned departments to take immediate measures to deal with this disease. On receiving information about the unusual death of chickens, the samples of dead birds were sent by the Animal Husbandry Department to the State Level Animal Disease Research Laboratory in pune and the indian Council of Agricultural Research-National High Security Animal Disease Institute in Bhopal. Bird flu infection has been confirmed in the report of these laboratories.

Process of killing infected birds

In the infected area, rapid action teams will kill infected birds in the poultry farms of Mangali, Geverlachak and Junonatoli through scientific method, so that the infection does not spread. Animal feed and eggs will also be destroyed in the affected area. Movement of vehicles has been banned in this area. Also, the movement of live and dead chickens, eggs, poultry manure, bird feed, related materials and equipment has also been banned.

No danger from eating cooked eggs and chicken

Eating boiled eggs and well-cooked chicken does not have any effect on people. It is completely safe. Therefore, people do not need to be afraid of bird flu. If there is an abnormal death of birds anywhere in the district, immediately contact the nearest veterinary hospital or toll-free number 1962.
