AAP suffers setback in delhi, bjp wins, exit poll figures surprise!

Voting for the assembly elections in delhi concluded today (5 February). As per the guidelines of the election Commission, various survey agencies have released the exit poll results after 6.30 pm. In this, aam aadmi party (AAP) seems to be getting a big setback. bjp seems to be returning to power in delhi after 25 years.

If we look at the exit poll figures of People's Insight, 25 to 29 seats are seen going to the account of Aam Aadmi Party. Whereas bjp can get 40 to 44 seats. Congress's account is also seen opening. congress can get 0 to 2 seats. 36 seats are needed to form a government in Delhi.

Which parties are in important competition in the elections?

There has been a competition between mainly three parties in Delhi. There was a fierce competition between bjp, AAP and Congress. However, regional parties like BSP, NCP, AIMIM, JDU and LJP-Ram Vilas were also seen trying their luck.

How was the performance in the 2020 elections?

AAP contested the elections on the face of Arvind Kejriwal. Whereas bjp and congress did not declare any face. AAP, which was in power at that time, won the elections again with a huge majority. However, it lost five seats. It was able to win 67 seats. Talking about the vote share, there was a decline of 0.71 but still it was able to get 53.57 percent votes. At the same time, bjp, which was in second place, improved its performance and won 8 seats with a gain of five seats. There was a jump in its vote share and it got 38.51 votes. Whereas congress could not even open its account.
