The Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh reached ghaziabad on Saturday, here he has announced that weekly markets will not be removed now, markets will be held at the same place where they used to be held. The Municipal Corporation will make alternative arrangements. The alternative arrangement will also be decided only after the consent of the shopkeepers. Also, the Chief Secretary said that the police does not have the right to interfere in this. bjp MLAs themselves had come out in protest against the police's decision to remove the weekly market. The bjp mla had sold vegetables in protest against the decision. Also, he had surrounded the district headquarters by traveling barefoot. Also, he had announced to give up food until the weekly market is not held.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh reached ghaziabad on Saturday. The issue of weekly market in ghaziabad was gaining momentum. bjp mla from Loni assembly Nandkishore gurjar himself was against the decision to remove the weekly market. Expressing his protest, he had sold vegetables on the road, as well as traveled barefoot. mla Nandkishore gurjar had also announced to give up food. According to the mla, 2 lakh shopkeepers hold weekly markets in ghaziabad who are supporters of the bharatiya janata party, Modi and Yogi.
Police will not interfere in the weekly market matter
The Chief Secretary has given a statement in ghaziabad that the weekly markets will be held at the same place where they were being held. The Municipal Corporation will look for an alternative place for it. The place will also be selected with the consent of the shopkeepers. The Chief Secretary also said that the police cannot interfere in this matter. This is a matter outside its jurisdiction.
Information was received from the ghaziabad police in this matter that due to weekly markets, people are imprisoned in their homes in a way. If a person has to go out of his house for any work, be it a medical emergency or anything else, then it is not possible. Also, the weekly market creates a traffic jam. In such a situation, the ghaziabad police had advised those holding weekly markets to set up the market in empty places.
