After delhi, now PM Modi's eyes on kerala and Bengal?
After the formation of bjp government after 27 years in delhi elections, now the question is arising whether kerala and West bengal will also be BJP's next mission? Because, Bharatiya Janata party has never formed government in kerala and West Bengal. Left and regional parties have had a strong influence in both these states, due to which bjp has not been able to come to power till now.
For a long time, congress and aam aadmi party (AAP) governments were formed in Delhi. BJP could not come to power here since 1998. But in 2025, Kejriwal's falling popularity and election strategy under Modi's leadership gave bjp victory. Now the same question is arising about kerala and Bengal, can BJP repeat the success like Delhi in kerala and West Bengal?
BJP's position in Kerala
Politics in kerala has mainly revolved between the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF). The LDF has been mainly dominated by the cpi (M), while the Congress has been the main party in the UDF. The bjp has tried to strengthen its hold here, but till now the bjp has never formed a government in the kerala Assembly.
In 2016, the bjp won its first mla (O. Rajagopal), but in the 2021 elections, the party could not win a single seat. The bjp did not gain much in the 2024 lok sabha elections either.
But, if the growing differences between the congress and the Left can benefit the BJP. The bjp has recently intensified its efforts towards the Christian community in kerala, which can affect the elections. If the bjp is successful in making a dent in Muslim and Christian votes, then it can get an edge in Kerala. The biggest challenge is that the core vote bank of the BJP is not strong in kerala yet.
