A big change has been made in the rules of getting housing under the government scheme in Uttar Pradesh. A big change has been made in the rules of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) and Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana (Rural) in UP. Keeping in mind the women empowerment and Mission shakti campaign, Uttar Pradesh deputy cm Keshav prasad Maurya has instructed the departmental officials that except in unavoidable circumstances, the houses given under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Rural and chief minister Awas Yojana - Rural should be approved only in the name of the female head. Also, the name of the female head should be compulsorily added to the houses approved in the name of the male head.

The deputy cm has said that except in unavoidable circumstances, the permanent houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) and chief minister Awas Yojana (Rural) should be approved only in the name of the female head. The purpose behind approving the houses in the name of the female head is that they get a sense of ownership and can be connected to the mainstream of the society. It was also said that the name of the female head should be compulsorily added to the houses approved in the name of the male. Keshav prasad Maurya said that a plan should be made for planting drumstick trees in front of the house, solar lights etc. The survey of beneficiaries should be completed by march 31.

Gram Chaupals should be organized every Friday

The deputy chief minister has directed that Gram Chaupals should be organized regularly every friday in two Gram Panchayats of each development block. Saying that the government itself is going to the villages and the poor. Due to the organization of Gram Chaupals, people do not have to wander to solve their problems, rather the problems are being resolved in the village itself. Commissioner Rural Development Department GS priyadarshi said that more than one lakh 24 thousand Chaupals have been set up in a year. In which more than four lakh 67 thousand problems and cases were resolved.

According to the information received from the Rural Development Department, at present, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, the houses approved in the name of female head is 40.14 percent and the percentage of houses approved in the joint name of husband and wife is 51.74. In this way, a total of 91.87 percent houses have been sanctioned in the name of the female head or the joint name of both husband and wife. Similarly, under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojna Gramin, 29.25 percent houses have been sanctioned in the name of the female head and 37.78 percent houses have been sanctioned in the name of both husband and wife. In this way, a total of 67.03 percent houses have been sanctioned in the name of the female head or the joint name of both husband and wife.
