Job, Security, Economy, Life... What did PM Modi say in AI Summit?

Prime minister Narendra Modi on tuesday (February 11, 2025) co-chaired the much-awaited AI Action Summit with French President Emmanuel Macron. While participating in the summit, prime minister Narendra Modi said that AI is very different from other technologies and there is a need to be cautious about it.

He said, 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) is developing at a very fast pace. india is ready to share its experience and expertise to ensure that the future of AI is good for all. india is also ahead in adopting AI and preparing a technology-legal basis for data privacy. We are developing AI applications for public good. india has successfully created wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital public infrastructure for its more than 1.4 billion people at a very low cost. We need global standards to deal with AI-related issues.'

PM Modi thanked Emmanuel Macron

The prime minister said, 'I am grateful to my friend President Macron for hosting this summit and inviting me to co-chair it. AI is already reshaping our economy, security and even our society. AI is writing the code for humanity in this century.' prime minister Modi said, 'We should bring our resources and talents together and develop open source systems that enhance trust and transparency. We must address concerns related to cybersecurity, misinformation and deep fakes.'

What did PM Modi say about job loss?

He said, 'The biggest fear about AI is the loss of jobs, but history has shown that work does not go anywhere due to technology. Over time, the nature of jobs changes and new types of jobs are created. For the future, we need to invest in the skills and re-skilling of our people.'
