Ghanan Bhai passes away, cm Dhami also expressed grief…

Garhwali comedian Ghanananda alias Ghanan Bhai has passed away. For four days, he was on ventilator at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital in Dehradun, but despite all efforts, the doctors could not save him. The news of his death has sent a wave of mourning across Uttarakhand. ghana Bhai was admitted to the hospital due to serious health problems. He was already suffering from heart disease and a pacemaker was also installed a few years ago. Recently, he had a problem of blood in urine, after which he reached the hospital for a general checkup.

Awaaz Suno Pahadon Ki program patron Balbir Singh Panwar and coordinator narendra Rauthan said that after blood transfusion, his health deteriorated and he was put on ventilator. Despite all the efforts of the doctors, his condition did not improve and he breathed his last on 11 february 2025.

Ghanna Bhai was a well-known name in Garhwali cinema and music world. He had worked in many Garhwali films and music albums. His comic acting was well liked by the audience and he became known in every household of Uttarakhand. His departure is an irreparable loss for the folk artists and fans of Uttarakhand. Artists and litterateurs of uttarakhand have condoled his death.

Along with comedy acting, Ghanna Bhai had also tried his luck in politics. In 2012, he contested the assembly elections from Pauri on a bjp ticket but lost. He had also claimed a ticket in the 2022 assembly elections. Although he could not achieve much success in politics, he maintained his popularity and remained connected with the public. As soon as the news of Ghanna Bhai's death spread, a wave of mourning ran across Uttarakhand. His fans are sharing emotional posts on social media and remembering his contribution. Garhwali folk artist prem Pancholi expressed condolences and said, "We have lost a precious star of Uttarakhand's folk music and film world. Ghanna Bhai will always be remembered for his comedy and spontaneous acting."
