Delhi Metro fare increased by 50 percent after BJP's victory?
Some posts went viral on social media claiming that delhi Metro has increased its fare by 50 percent when bjp returned to power. However, DMRC has called it fake news. An official statement regarding this has also been issued on 'X' on Wednesday. Taking cognizance of the rumor about fare hike in delhi Metro, DMRC wrote on 'X', "This is regarding some social media posts in which it is claimed that the fare of delhi Metro has been increased. The fare of delhi Metro can only be increased by the Fair Fixation Committee which is done by the government. Currently, no such proposal has come regarding the formation of Fair Fixation Committee."
How did the rumor spread?
A user named Ankit Chaudhary wrote on social media, "As soon as the Modi government entered delhi, a gift was given to the people of the country in which the metro fare was increased by 50 percent on Sunday. Modi government has given good news to the people of Delhi.''
Fare of Bangalore Metro has been increased
A handle named Yadav ekta Zindabad wrote, ''Friends, the first gift of good days for the people of Delhi. Metro fare has increased. Ticket of Rs. 60 is now available for Rs. 90.'' However, when a fact check was done on this, it was found that there are such news in many places that the fare of Bangalore Metro has been increased. Probably due to the same misunderstanding, such posts have been made. The fare of Bangalore Metro has been increased by about 50 percent on february 8. A ticket of Rs. 60 will now be available for Rs. 90. Whereas the fare of delhi Metro is the same as before on all its routes. This has been confirmed by DMRC Chief Executive director Anuj Dayal himself.
