Raghav Chadha cornered the Modi government over railways...

Aam Aadmi Party's rajya sabha MP Raghav Chadha fiercely attacked the central government during the budget discussion. He cornered the government on the issue of ignoring the middle class, the plight of railways and the issue of NRIs. Raghav Chadha said that the government gives subsidy to the poor, waives off the loans of the rich, but only burdens the middle class with taxes. On the issue of railways, Raghav Chadha questioned the policies of the government. He said that the facilities of the railways are continuously falling, but the fare is continuously increasing. There is a lot of talk about Vande Bharat and bullet train, but the common man has to wait for hours to travel in the train.

He took a dig at the Railway minister and said that he is more interested in making reels than in railways. Chadha asked, "When will the government pay attention to the delay, dirt, shortage of tickets and poor facilities in railways?"

He said in the budget discussion- 'The government only wants tax from the middle class, not relief!'

He also said that the government is dreaming of a five trillion dollar economy, but wants to put its burden only on the shoulders of the middle class. He demanded that the middle class should be given tax relief and they should also get the benefit of government schemes. Accusing the government, he said, "Does the government consider the middle class only as a 'hen that lays golden eggs'? No relief was given for them in the budget"

Raghav Chadha said that the government will have to work in reality, not just on election promises. He demanded from the government that the middle class should get tax relief, railway facilities should be improved and the interests of the NRIs should be protected.

Question to the government on the issue of NRIs

Raghav Chadha also raised the issue of 104 indians deported from America. He said that these indians were sent back tied in shackles, but the government remained silent. He asked, "When indian citizens are insulted, why does our government not say anything?" He expressed concern about America's trump policies and said that this is threatening millions of indian jobs.
