AAP mp sanjay singh got angry over the Waqf Board Amendment Bill…
The report of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed to consider the Waqf Amendment Bill was presented in the rajya sabha on thursday (13 February). The opposition lodged strong protest against this and there was an uproar in the Parliament.
The opposition alleges that the dissent note which was registered during the discussion on the draft of the Waqf Bill is not there in this report. The opposition claims that there are serious constitutional flaws in this JPC report and this report is not complete. However, the ruling party claims that there has been no editing in the report and this report has been presented only after discussion and consensus in the Joint Parliamentary Committee, which will now be tabled in the Lok Sabha.
'Why was the dissent note of the opposition thrown in the dustbin?'- Sanjay Singh
The opposition is now attacking the ruling party over this. Aam Aadmi Party's rajya sabha mp sanjay singh said, "I was a member of the JPC. It is unfortunate that the opposition gave a dissent note and registered its protest, but their protest was not included. You have made a joke of the JPC report. You may agree or disagree with our opinion, but in a democracy every party has the right to give its opinion. How can you throw it in the dustbin?"
On the JPC report, sanjay singh further said, "Remember history will not forgive us. This is the beginning today. In the future, they will bring a bill to occupy the land of Gurudwaras, they will also bring a bill to occupy the land of temples and a bill will also be brought to occupy the land of churches. They will occupy all these lands and give them to a few capitalists."
