Two Brazilian women smugglers arrested at the airport!
The customs team at the indira gandhi international airport in the capital delhi has succeeded in uncovering two big cases of cocaine smuggling. In these cases, the customs team has arrested two foreign female drug smugglers, from whom 1720 grams of cocaine worth about Rs 26 crore has been recovered. In both the cases, foreign female passengers had reached Delhi's IGI airport hiding cocaine inside their bodies for smuggling.
959 grams of cocaine recovered from 93 capsules
According to the information received from the customs officer, the Customs Intelligence team stopped a Brazilian female citizen, who arrived at Terminal-3 of delhi airport from Sao Paulo (Brazil) via paris (France) on flight number AF-0214, for investigation on january 26, on suspicion of smuggling narcotics by swallowing. Based on her suspicious behaviour, the customs team took her for a thorough investigation, where on strict interrogation, she told that she had brought a large quantity of cocaine filled capsules by swallowing them. On which the customs team took her into custody.
The oval shaped capsules, which she had brought by swallowing, were taken out from the foreign female smuggler in the prevention room of IGI airport. After that, she was kept under medical supervision in the hospital. Where a total of 55 more capsules containing white powder were taken out from her through medical process. A total of 93 capsules of 959 grams of cocaine were recovered from the foreign female smuggler.
The air passenger was arrested after seizing the cocaine
The value of the recovered cocaine in the international market is being reported to be Rs 14 crore 39 lakh. After seizing it, the accused female air passenger has been arrested under the NDPS Act and smuggling charges. The customs team is conducting further investigation in this case.
