After the delhi Assembly elections, now AAP suffered setback?

After a crushing defeat in the delhi Assembly elections, the aam aadmi party (AAP) has now suffered a major setback in the Municipal Corporation (MCD) as well. Three AAP councillors joined the bharatiya janata party (BJP) on saturday (15 February). This seems to open the way for bjp to gain power in the MCD as well.

In fact, the councillors who left the aam aadmi party and joined the bjp include Anita Basoya from Andrews Ganj, Dharamvir from rk Puram and Nikhil from Chaprana. delhi bjp President Virendra Sachdeva gave them party membership.

New crisis for AAP

After a crushing defeat in the delhi Assembly elections, problems have increased for AAP in the MCD as well. Many councillors were already angry with the party, now the joining of three councillors in the bjp is a big setback for the Aam Aadmi Party. It is clear from this that the BJP's hold is getting stronger in the Municipal Corporation as well.

Will there be a change of power in MCD?

Aam Aadmi party won the delhi Municipal Corporation elections and captured the post of Mayor, but now its councilors are breaking away. If more councilors join bjp, there can be a change of power in MCD. bjp has already indicated that it is making a strategy to gain power in MCD.

Increased stir in delhi politics

BJP is constantly accusing the AAP government of corruption and misgovernance. bjp has been attacking on many issues ranging from liquor policy scam to misuse of funds in the Municipal Corporation. Now when AAP councilors are joining bjp, a big reversal can be seen in MCD as well. Now the question is, will more councilors also leave the party? Will bjp gain majority in MCD? More stir can be seen in delhi politics in the coming days.
