Dirt will no longer be seen in Delhi's markets!

Delhi's markets will now become even cleaner and attractive. Municipal Corporation (MCD) has started the night sweeping scheme. Under the scheme, regular cleaning work will be done at night in 312 major markets. Traders have welcomed the initiative of MCD. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashwani Kumar said that Delhi's new exercise is an effort to provide a clean environment to the traders. He has also issued strict instructions to all the zonal deputy commissioners.

Zonal deputy commissioners have been told that 312 markets including chandni Chowk, Krishna nagar Lal Quarter, New Friends Colony Market, Srinivaspuri should be cleaned every night. Dirt and garbage should not be seen in the markets. Cleaning at night will provide a clean environment to customers and shopkeepers when they come to the market in the morning. According to the order issued by the MCD, in every zone, at least an executive engineer or a senior officer of the administrative officer level will monitor the cleaning campaign at night. The responsibility of the officers will be to maintain the cleanliness system smoothly. The duty and work of the cleaners will also be checked.

Warning of action against those who spread dirt

Corporation Commissioner Ashwani Kumar has said that market associations should also be included in the cleanliness campaign. Everyone should participate in maintaining cleanliness. The MCD has warned of imposing a fine for spreading dirt or throwing garbage in the market. Ashwani Kumar said that the MCD initiative is an important part of Swachh Delhi. In the last few years, the MCD has run many schemes for cleanliness.

MCD's new initiative for cleaning markets

Schemes like 'door-to-door garbage collection' and 'mechanized road sweeping' are included. Now with the night sweeping scheme, an attempt will be made to completely eliminate dirt in the markets. The Municipal Corporation has sought cooperation from the traders, customers and common people in the cleanliness campaign. With participation, Delhi's markets can always remain clean. Citizens are appealed to help MCD in maintaining cleanliness and throw garbage only at designated places.
