18 people lost their lives due to the stampede at New delhi railway station on saturday night. There was a huge crowd at the railway station to go to Prayagraj. people kept running here and there to save their lives and trampled others. In this rush, many people left their belongings at the railway station. Somebody's slippers, somebody's clothes and somebody's other belongings were scattered at the railway station, foot over bridge and escalator, which was cleaned by railway employees on Sunday.
18 people lost their lives in this tragic accident of february 15, including five children. Out of these, 9 were from Bihar. All of them were waiting for the train going to Prayagraj. There was a huge crowd at different stations and foot over bridges for the trains going to Prayagraj. After the relief operation, clothes, shoes, water bottles, bags and other belongings of the passengers were seen scattered in the railway premises. Railway cleaning staff was deployed to remove them.
The accident also happened due to trains being late
According to NDTV report, Northern Railway's Chief Public Relation Officer Himanshu Upadhyay said that Patna-bound Magadh Express was on platform number 14 and New delhi Jammu North Sampark kranti was on platform number 15. Swatantrata Senani Express and bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express were also late. Passengers of these trains were present on platform number 12, 13 and 14.
Delhi police team is stationed at the railway station. DCP KPS Malhotra said in a conversation with news agency IANS, "Whatever fact there is about the wrong announcement will come in the investigation of the railway. We are not working on that. At this time, we are working on the entire management and are working on ensuring that people do not face any problem. No such report has come to our police station that there is any missing. "
