Elon Musk is going to give a big blow to China!

American electric vehicle manufacturer tesla can now import cars from Germany's factory instead of China. The company also plans to enter India. Initially, imported cars will be sold in india and later their manufacturing unit will be set up. For this, the governments of many states have been contacted, among which gujarat, maharashtra, tamil Nadu and telangana are at the forefront.

Tesla wants to take advantage of this policy

Sources say that tesla can also come forward to take advantage of the new EV policy of the government of India. This policy has some rules, conditions and concessions for those companies who want to come to india and make electric vehicles. Under this policy, the company will be allowed to import 8,000 cars annually with a very concessional rate of 15 percent (as compared to 110 percent at present) of custom duty and this will happen only when the companies make a minimum investment of Rs 4,150 crore to manufacture electric vehicles at the local level.

Talks with the company may start soon

A Times of india report quoted a source as saying, "There is an atmosphere of both excitement and nervousness in many big states regarding Tesla's investment. There is a plan to contact the company management as soon as possible and start talks. It is possible that some special benefits may also be given during this time. Both tamil Nadu and maharashtra are already automobile manufacturing hubs and gujarat is also a state where many companies have invested in the last decade. Access to ports is easy from all three states, which is also an important thing for tesla because the company also has to export cars." This is the company's plan

In its initial plan given to the government, the company had said that it plans to set up a plant with a capacity of 5 lakh, on which its investment will be between 2-3 billion dollars. tesla wants to make a brand new budget car for india, which is likely to be priced at Rs 20-25 lakh. On the US decision not to import cars from China, a source said, tesla wants to coordinate in view of India-China diplomatic issues. The German factory in Berlin, which produces tesla Model Y, will now manufacture right-hand drive cars, which will be sent to India.
