Implementation of the new excise policy in UP!

The new excise policy by the Uttar Pradesh government will be implemented in this session. The allocation of shops for the new excise policy will also start afresh. The application process for shop allocation has started on 14 February. This process will continue till 27 February. After 27 february, the shops will be allocated through lottery. With the new excise policy of the Uttar Pradesh government, the government is expected to get a big increase in the revenue from excise. The number of liquor shops will be reduced across the state but there will be a big increase in revenue. In such a situation, the process of application for shop allocation has started from 14 february itself.


Liquor shops reduced from 600 to 464

Firozabad Excise Officer ravindra Kumar says that, till this session, about 600 shops were operating in the district, which will now be reduced to 464 liquor shops. Actually, the reason for the reduction in liquor shops is the composition of the shops, because under the new excise policy, there will now be only one shop for beer and english liquor, due to which the number of composite shops of english liquor and beer in the district will now be 464 due to adjustment of the number of composite and desi liquor shops.


According to district Excise Officer ravindra Kumar, the number of desi liquor shops across the district has been fixed at 292. While the composite shops of english and beer have been fixed at 169. The number of model shops in the district will remain three as before. While 22 shops of cannabis will be allotted in the district.


The district's revenue will increase by 100 crores

According to the Excise Department, firozabad district was collecting revenue of 575 to 600 crores under the excise policy in the session of 2023-24. But now the revenue of the district will increase because under the new excise policy, there has been an increase of 10% on desi liquor shops. Whereas the license fee on english liquor and beer has been increased by five percent at composite shops. Under the new excise policy, revenue is expected to increase by about 75 to 100 crore rupees. Due to which the revenue of the district will now be around 700 crore rupees annually.


Under the new excise policy, applications for shops have been started from february 14. All these applications are being made online on the portal created by the state government. application fee has been fixed according to the area for the shop application. The application fee for taking a composite shop in rural area has been kept at Rs 55000, while the application fee has been fixed at Rs 65000 in nagar Panchayat area, Rs 75000 in nagar Palika area and Rs 85000 in Municipal Corporation area.
