On december 17, 2024, the electricity department team installed a smart meter at the residence of sambhal SP mp Ziaur rahman Bark at deepa Sarai, while on december 19, the electricity department checked the electricity load of his house, on which the electricity department found that the four kilowatt connection at the SP MP's house has a load of more than 16 kilowatts.
The electricity bill appeared zero in the MRI report of the MP's meter. In this case, an FIR was lodged by the electricity department against the SP mp on charges of stealing electricity. Along with this, a fine was also imposed on him. In response to this, the SP mp said that a solar panel is installed at his house, due to which the electricity consumption at his house is less, but the electricity department did not consider the answer of the SP mp satisfactory.

To stop electricity theft in sambhal area, the department had raided there during the same time, in which a large number of illegal electricity connections were caught. During this period, electricity theft was detected in many houses from the roof of a house. The department had also taken action on a large scale.
