Goods worth Rs 41 lakh stolen from police station's warehouse!

The police, which protects the public, has not been able to protect the goods worth Rs 41 lakh kept under its presence and supervision. The case has come to light from Govindnagar police station of Kanpur, where goods worth about Rs 41 lakh kept in the police station's warehouse are missing from police custody. In such a situation, considering it a big negligence, an FIR has been registered in the police station against the police personnel who was in charge of the warehouse.

Whenever there is a robbery, murder, theft or any other such incident in any police station area in which the police recovers evidence and goods during investigation. The police keeps the goods safe in the police station. The responsibility of this goods kept in the warehouse is also done very actively. But goods worth about Rs 41 lakh suddenly disappeared from the warehouse kept in Govindnagar police station of Kanpur. No one in the police station was aware of this missing goods, even the police personnel who were in charge of the goods were unaware of this.

Case registered against the then policeman

Actually, the policeman Dinesh Chandra, who was under the supervision of the goods seized in the incidents from 2020 to 2022, was posted in lucknow from the year 2022 onwards. The goods indicated from the police station were traced and all the missing goods were from the time of Dinesh Chandra, due to which the police personnel could not give any information about the missing goods. In this regard, an FIR was registered against him in Govind nagar police station itself.

What did the ADCP say in the matter?

ADCP South Mahesh Kumar said that the goods seized in the years 2020 and 2022 were related to different incidents. Due to their non-availability, there was a situation of tension in the department. Now Dinesh Chandra has been transferred to lucknow due to promotion, but during the responsibility given to him, goods worth more than Rs 41 lakh are missing. Due to which, considering it as negligence, an FIR has been lodged against him in the police station. Legal action will be taken against him in this matter.
