MCD takes up the responsibility of cleaning schools!
The education Department of the Municipal Corporation of delhi (MCD), rohini Zone has launched the 'Swachh Vidyalaya, Swasth Vidyarthi Abhiyan' to improve cleanliness and health facilities in schools. The aim of this initiative is to connect students with better hygiene practices and maintain cleanliness at a high level in schools. A standard operating procedure (SOP) has been prepared under this campaign, which includes a three-level evaluation process of schools. First the schools will rank themselves on cleanliness, then the subordinate committee of the Deputy director of education will inspect, and finally the final evaluation will be led by the Deputy Commissioner of rohini Zone. Under this entire process, the cleanest three schools will be rewarded every month.
Special focus on support and facilities
The schools will be provided assistance from the Dams and Horticulture departments of the Municipal Corporation of delhi to improve cleanliness and greenery. Apart from this, regular health checkups and sanitation facilities will be given priority for the health welfare of the students. Under this campaign, not only cleanliness but also other social aspects of schools will be encouraged. Especially, active participation of schools in the recently concluded assembly elections will also be recognized and appreciation certificates will be given to the respective schools.
On the occasion of the launch of this campaign, Regional Deputy Commissioner Dilkhush meena said, “Clean and healthy environment is not only important for the health of students but also plays an important role in their academic success. This campaign will promote cleanliness habits among students and make schools an ideal learning place.”
Initiative in line with Swachh Bharat Mission
This campaign has been developed on the lines of Swachh Bharat Mission of the government of india to promote sustainable cleanliness practices in schools. This initiative will increase cleanliness and health awareness in schools, ensuring a bright and healthy future for the students.
