SP mla compared UP's Shikshamitras to…? bjp created ruckus…
Uttar Pradesh's Sugarcane Development and sugar Mill Affairs minister Lakshmi Narayan Chaudhary on tuesday opposed the statement of a member of the main opposition party Samajwadi party (SP) in the assembly and said that it is not right to compare Shikshamitras to dogs. State minister of Basic education (Independent Charge) sandeep singh said that the honorable member should apologize for the insult he has done to Shikshamitras inside the House. On tuesday, the sixth day of the budget session in the assembly, during the Question Hour, SP member Rakesh Kumar Verma had asked the Basic education minister that how much honorarium is currently being given to the Shikshamitras of primary and upper primary schools and whether the government will consider increasing the said honorarium or making the Shikshamitras teachers in view of the rising inflation.
Dissatisfied with the government's reply, Verma, while mentioning the plight of Shiksha Mitras in his statement during the supplementary question, said, 'The servant in the house of the honorable minister, who takes the dog for a walk, also takes a salary of 20 thousand. The person who goes to the minister's house to hammer nails, takes a wage of one thousand rupees per day, but the Shiksha Mitras are paid only about three hundred and fifty rupees in a day, which is very less compared to inflation.' Before the concerned minister could respond to this, senior minister in the house, Laxminarayan Chaudhary, said, 'Verma ji said that our dog walker also takes 20 thousand rupees. Will Shiksha Mitras be compared to dogs?'
'You people used to talk about rearing cows. . . '
Meanwhile, members of the ruling bharatiya janata party (BJP) started raising objections. Pointing towards the member, Chaudhary said that you people used to talk about rearing cows and now you have started rearing dogs. While answering in the house, sandeep singh said that the member asked a question in the context of Shiksha Mitras and compared them to animals and in the last session too, the opposition member had compared them to animals. He said, 'This is the member's sentiment towards Shiksha Mitras. The honourable member should apologise for the insult he has done to the teacher inside the House.' Earlier, minister sandeep singh said in a written reply to the question that Shiksha Mitra is currently being given an honorarium of Rs 10,000 per month.
