DGP prashant kumar on completion of Mahakumbh!
Today is the last bath on Mahashivratri in Prayagraj Mahakumbh, after which Kumbh will be concluded. This time in Mahakumbh, a record number of 65 crore devotees took a dip of faith in Sangam. This is the biggest religious event in the world. The police and administration played a special role in its successful completion, on which DGP prashant kumar expressed happiness. He said that such a model of such a big event has never been seen before.
On the completion of Mahakumbh mela 2025 today, UP DGP said, the last bath of Mahakumbh 2025 started this morning in the auspicious time. Today Mahakumbh 2025 has come to the final stage. If we talk about Prayagraj, then in these 45 days, more than 65 crore devotees took a dip of faith here. The Uttar Pradesh police, under the leadership and guidance of the Chief Minister, has presented a model of crowd management, security and use of technology in policing which has not been seen anywhere else in the world.
DGP praised the police administration
He said that it is being praised at all levels. Our colleagues have won everyone's heart with their behavior without weapons for the last 45 days and this is a matter of great pride for me as the head of the police administration and for the government. We used world-class technologies. AI was also used extensively. The cooperation we received from other institutions and agencies is the result of which our team has done what has never happened on the world stage before. We also had very good coordination with the railways.
During the maha Kumbh, about five to ten lakh devotees kept coming to our religious places Kashi Vishwanath, ayodhya and Vindhyavasini Devi temple every day. The capability of our police was completely tested and everyone has lived up to it. Today also, five Shaivite Akharas have taken darshan at kashi vishwanath temple in Varanasi. Two Akharas will do so in the afternoon. In this entire effort, the Railway Ministry and our GRP worked together to make the journey smooth.
