'Jailed Subrata kept enjoying facilities and...', sunil Gupta reveals!
Former tihar jail PRO sunil Kumar Gupta has made some such revelations during his tenure which has created a stir. He claimed that when the late businessman Subrata Roy was a Sahara prisoner, he had all the facilities in the jail. sunil Gupta, who was the Superintendent of tihar jail, alleged that air hostesses used to come to Subrata Roy's cell two to three times a day. Speaking to news agency ANI, sunil Gupta said, "He had sought permission from the court for video conferencing with several buyers of his hotel, who were from western countries, and said that the sale cannot happen until this happens. When the supreme court sought a solution from the jail administration, the jail administration said that this is not possible while being in jail. It can be done from outside the jail."
Subrata Roy used to sleep in the court complex
He said, "After this, he (Subrata) was transferred to the court complex, where video conferencing facility was available, he also took his facility. He used to sleep in the same complex at night. Whereas the rest of the prisoners are locked in their cells as soon as night falls. Subrata Roy had said that he should be kept locked from outside in the court complex at night. The court accepted his request, so Subrata Roy was not locked." sunil Gupta, who was the PRO of tihar jail, said in an interview, "He was provided with full food facilities. We also recovered liquor bottles from his cell. The court had also allowed Subrata Roy to keep a private secretary. Subrata Roy had kept a female as his secretary.
