

Fares of domestic flights from delhi airport will increase!
The proposed increase in air fares at delhi airport is going to loose the pockets of passengers. Under this, domestic fares will increase by 1.5 to 2 percent. delhi international airport Limited (DIAL) has proposed user fees for economy and business class passengers. This hatch is for peak hours and off-peak hours. This year's annual passenger capacity is 10.9 crores.
DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuria said on wednesday that after the proposal is passed, the yield per passenger (YPP) will be Rs 370, which is currently Rs 145. The proposed fee is 140 percent compared to 2006 when DIAL got the responsibility of delhi airport. He said that the fares in domestic flights will increase by 1.5 to 2 percent while international fares will increase by less than one percent. This proposal is being discussed with the airport Economy Regulatory Authority.
T2 will be closed for a few months
This proposal is for 1 april 2024 to 31 march 2029. At present, the user development fee is Rs 77 per passenger. DIAL is currently upgrading facilities at all three terminals T1, T2 and T3 and operates at least 1300 flights every day. T2 will be closed for four-five months from April. Because the runway has to be upgraded here. It is being upgraded so that the aircraft can land even in low visibility.

Before the terminal is temporarily closed, the repaired part of T1 will become operational. Jaipuria said that a part of T3 will be converted for international flights. He said that we have not backed down from investing and improving the passenger experience. Since taking over the airport in 2006, DIAL has invested Rs 30,000 crore and given Rs 25,000 crore to the Airports Authority of india as part of revenue sharing.
