Terminal-2 will be closed for 4-5 months in April
He said, "Delhi airport Terminal-2 will be temporarily closed for four to five months in April. About 1.5 crore passengers of T-2 will be shifted to T-1. Due to the increasing number of passengers, the airport operator will open that part of T-3 for international flights from where domestic flights are currently operated.''
How many passengers travel at Terminal-2?
About 10.9 crore passengers travel at this airport annually. Currently, about four crore passengers travel at T-1 and 1.5 crore passengers travel at T-2. Other passengers come and go from T-3. He said, "T-2 will be closed for four to five months. During this period, one of our runways will remain closed, as ILS (Instrument Landing System) upgrade work is going on."
The upgrade work will be completed before next winter!
CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar also said, "We want to complete this upgrade work before the winter season." After the completion of this work, flights will be able to operate in low visibility conditions. It is noteworthy that during the winter season, visibility problems are usually faced at the airport due to fog.
