Big announcement by Bangladeshi students!
The student group that ousted Sheikh Hasina from power in bangladesh has announced the formation of a new political party. Nahid islam, who was the leading face of the movement against Sheikh Hasina last year, will lead this new party. The official launch of the party will take place on friday (February 28) in Dhaka, where the party will be launched with a rally on Manik Mia Avenue near the parliament House.
Jaatiyo Nagrik Committee spokesperson Samanta Sharmin said that new hopes have been born in bangladesh after last year's July 2024 uprising. The students have formed this new party because they believe that the existing political parties (interim government of Mohammad Yunus) do not represent all sections of the country. According to Sharmin, the new party will work to make bangladesh a modern country and would like to bring the country to a prominent position in South Asia. Their aim is to connect bangladesh with the world and include new ideas.
Plan to modernize Bangladesh
Samantha Sharmin said that bangladesh has been a victim of government repression for the last 53 years and government institutions have been misused. The goal of this new party is to lay the foundation of rights-based politics. Sharmin stressed that the party's politics will run on the basis of the basic rights of the people of Bangladesh. Also, fair and equality-based relations will be built with all the countries of the country.
Distance from Mohammad Yunus
About Mohammad Yunus, who is currently leading the interim government, Sharmin said that he does not represent any political party. Yunus and his advisors represent the rebellion, but they are not associated with any political party. However, Nahid islam has decided to resign from Yunus' government and lead a new party. Nahid was a prominent leader of last year's movement against Sheikh Hasina and now he is bringing new hope to bangladesh politics.
