Farmers being cheated.., SP mp attacks the central government!
Samajwadi party rajya sabha mp Ramji Lal suman has accused the government of indifference towards the issue of farmers in the budget. Ramji Lal suman said that no matter what the BJP's central and state government announces, it is clear from the figures that the government's claims are baseless. The government only makes announcements for the farmers, while the reality on the ground is something else. The SP said that the government is reducing the budget for farmers and announces doubling the income.
SP rajya sabha mp Ramji Lal suman said that the least amount of money has been allocated in the last seven years for the Prime Minister's most ambitious Kisan Fasal Bima Yojana. Compared to Rs 15864 crore allocated in the year 2024-25, this amount was allocated Rs 12242 crore in 2025-26, which is 23 percent less than last year. He said that this scheme was started by the prime minister in february 2016, the main reason for farmers getting disillusioned with this scheme is that the payment for crop loss in the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is made very late, due to non-payment of crop loss or delay in payment, the attraction of farmers towards this scheme is decreasing every year.
'Government cuts agriculture budget'
The SP mp further said that the funny thing is that the central government, which claims to double the income of farmers, has cut this year's agriculture budget by 2.5 percent, in the name of new technology for farmers, there are 721 Krishi Vigyan Kendras in our country, but the research being done at these centers is not visible on the ground, farmers are not able to get any benefit from it. The central government constantly pretends to be serious on the issue of farmers. The mechanism through which the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana should be fully implemented is lacking.
SP mp Ramjilal suman said that in the last five years from 2020-21 to 2024-25, the central government could spend only Rs 525669 crore out of the amount of Rs 593290 crore allocated for agriculture. This simply means that out of the allocated amount, Rs 67621 crore could not be spent, this shows how serious the government is for the farmers.
