Process of changing names in Delhi! what will be the new name?
bjp mla Mohan Singh Bisht had said during the delhi assembly elections that when he wins, Mustafabad will be renamed. However, many more areas have been added to the list of name changes. Najafgarh and Mohammadpur are also in BJP's list. Today (27 February), mla Neelam Pehalwan demanded to change Najarfgarh to Nahargarh in the assembly while mla anil sharma is demanding to change the name of Mohammadpur to Madhavpuram.
Neelam Pehalwan said in the assembly, "My assembly is in delhi rural. It touches the border of Haryana, when Mughal Shah Alamgir took over Najafgarh, our Najafgarh was tortured. In the 1857 revolution, raja Nahar Singh had included Najafgarh in delhi, but even after the paperwork, the name of Najafgarh was not changed." He said, "When Pravesh Verma was an MP, we had demanded to change the name to Nahargarh through him. Najafgarh has great hopes that we fight to establish the existence that their kings fought for. We expect support from the cm and all of you."
anil sharma will meet the Speaker and put forward his demand
On the other hand, bjp mla anil sharma has said that he will meet the Speaker and raise the issue of Mohammadpur. bjp mla anil sharma told ANI, "In R.K. Puram assembly constituency, we have a village named Mohammad Pur, whose name was proposed to be changed to Madhavpuram by the corporation a long time ago. anil sharma said that the proposal was kept pending in the assembly for a long time. Till now there was an AAP government, which kept this issue buried in the pit. Tomorrow I am going to put a proposal in front of the Speaker to rename (Mohammad Pur) village as Madhavpuram. The people of our village also want the same.
