BJP came into action as soon as the government was formed!
BJP is preparing to change the picture of the main roads of Delhi. These include the Outer Ring Road from IIT flyover to Modi Mill flyover, Akshardham to noida Border road via noida Link Road and Outer Ring Road from Bhairon Marg to Sundial Road near Maharani Bagh. According to the report of indian Express, PWD says that all these routes are very important because they connect Ghaziabad, noida, Faridabad, Badarpur and the international airport.
It is being told that work on these routes is pending for a year. Just last week, rekha Gupta had met with the officials of PWD and asked to solve the road related problems. 1400 km of road comes under PWD. Last year, 6671 potholes were identified. It had promised to repair them before diwali but only 80 roads were repaired. PWD official said that work on this has started. This is part of the 100-day action plan. minister Pravesh Verma has instructed engineers and officials to take up these routes on priority within two months.
Why is Outer Ring Road necessary?
Greater Kailash, Malviya Nagar, Paschim vihar Enclave, CR Park, Chirag delhi, Pamposh Enclave come under the 7.2 km radius from Modi Mill to IIT flyover. Officials say that this road is surrounded by colonies, so its widening is not possible. Its repair is also pending for a long time.
Bhairon Marg
This is a four kilometer radius which connects Central delhi to South east Delhi. Sarai Kale Khan, Pragati Maidan and ITO come under its radius. Scraping work has started here too.
Akshardham Flyover
There is a four kilometer route from Akshardham Flyover to noida Border which connects east delhi, noida, Central and North delhi and Kashmiri Gate ISBT. Due to the presence of Akshardham temple, a lot of pedestrians also come here. local people are complaining that the roads here are in bad condition. Repair work started in october 2024 but it was also stopped due to pollution.
