Mohan Singh Bisht becomes Deputy Speaker of delhi Assembly!

Senior bjp leader Mohan Singh Bisht has been elected Deputy Speaker of delhi Assembly. chief minister rekha Gupta proposed the name of Bisht, mla from Mustafabad, which was supported by minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Mohan Singh Bisht has been elected Deputy Speaker with majority. Mohan Singh Bisht is a six-time MLA. This time the party fielded him from Mustafabad seat and he defeated aam aadmi party (AAP)'s Adil ahmed khan by more than 17 thousand votes.

Bisht elected from Karawal nagar seat five times

Earlier he was winning from Karawal Nagar. He won this seat for the first time in 1998 and remained mla from this seat till 2015. Bisht won again from Karawal nagar seat in 2020.

In the 2015 elections, he was defeated by Kapil Mishra. Then Mishra contested on AAP ticket. Later he joined BJP.

This time the party made Kapil Mishra a candidate from Karawal Nagar. He won here by a big margin and became a minister in rekha Gupta's government. bjp made Bisht a candidate from Mustafabad and he won.

What is the work of the Deputy Speaker?

Senior leader Vijender Gupta is the Speaker in the delhi Assembly. The post of Deputy Speaker is important in running the proceedings of the assembly smoothly. When the Speaker is not present in the House, the Deputy Speaker sits on the chair and handles the proceedings. The election for this post is based on majority. bjp has won 48 out of 70 seats in the election. At the same time, aam aadmi party (AAP) got 22 seats. bjp has returned to power in the national capital after 27 years.
