Fraud in the name of installing mobile tower in Delhi!

The cyber crime police of Outer North district has busted a gang of fraudsters in the name of mobile tower installation. The accused used to trap people through fake websites and google advertisements. The victims were lured with huge profits on installing mobile towers.

DCP Nidhin Valsan said that Sonu, a resident of Pooth Khurd, had lodged a complaint in the cyber police station. The complainant said that the fraudsters contacted him through whatsapp and phone calls. He told that he would get rent every month in exchange for installing a mobile tower on the roof of the house.

He was asked to deposit Rs 1,85,650 as registration fee. Sonu paid the amount after getting deceived. After taking the money, the fraudsters did not install the mobile tower. After realizing that he was cheated, the victim complained to the police. Investigation was started on the complaint of the victim. A special team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Raman Kumar Singh. The team started technical investigation. Details of mobile numbers and bank accounts were scrutinized.

Fraud in the name of installing mobile towers

Investigation of the fake website revealed that 36-year-old Sarfaraz, a resident of Samalkha, had developed it. 37-year-old munna Singh, a resident of Mahavar Enclave, used to trap people by advertising on Google. police arrested both the accused by conducting a raid on 21 February. Sarfaraz is a web developer by profession. He created a fake website for cyber fraud. munna Singh became a part of the cyber fraud gang after working in the IT sector.

people were deceived through google ads and online marketing. police have recovered 2 mobile phones and 4 laptops used in the crime. Important data related to the fake website has been found in the laptop. Investigation revealed that more than 50 fake websites like www.towervision.in have been created, claiming to install mobile towers of telecom companies. The website was closed after receiving the registration money. The phone numbers of the fraudsters also used to get switched off. The DCP said that telecom companies never contact through phone or whatsapp messages to install mobile towers. If you get an offer, you should understand that it is the handiwork of cyber thugs.
