Big negligence of the electricity department!

A shocking case of negligence of the electricity department has come to light in Roorkee area of Uttarakhand. A villager in Cholli Shahbuddinpur village of Bhagwanpur police station area was handed a huge electricity bill of Rs 28792 for the consumption of just 51 units. Seeing this bill, villager Khurshid Malik was shocked and he was forced to plead for justice.

The victim villager says that there is no reason for such a high bill, because his electricity consumption is very low. He contacted the electricity department, but the department did not give any satisfactory answer. Instead, now he is being pressured to pay the entire bill as soon as possible.

Khurshid Malik said that he brought this matter to the notice of the electricity department officials, but no solution has been found so far. His financial condition is not so good that he can pay such a huge bill without any mistake. The victim villager has appealed to the Dhami government for justice and expressed hope that he will get relief in this matter.

Other people of the village say that this is not the first time that the electricity department has issued a wrong bill. Many times, due to meter reading errors and technical flaws, high bills are sent to the villagers. However, when consumers go to complain, they do not get any satisfactory answer and are pressured by the departmental officials to pay.

The victim was shocked after seeing the bill

Khurshid Malik says that he is an ordinary villager and his electricity consumption is also very low. He said, "When I saw the bill, I was shocked. It is completely wrong to get such a big bill for just 51 units. If this is not corrected, we will be forced to go to the administration. This is not an isolated case. It is often seen that due to wrong reading, meter malfunction, or technical flaws, consumers are sent unnecessarily high bills. Many times poor and middle-class families pay the bill out of compulsion without investigation.
