Weather deteriorated from mountains to plains!

The weather has deteriorated in Uttarakhand. Heavy rain and snowfall from mountains to plains has increased the cold tremendously. Snowfall is occurring in high altitude areas including Gangotri-Yamunotri, Harshil, badrinath, Kedarnath, auli and Hemkund. At the same time, continuous rain continues in many districts including Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, nainital, Champawat. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding snowfall in areas above 3500 meters in the state and heavy rain at some places.

For the first time in this season, a tremendous drop in temperature has been recorded due to continuous rain. In Dehradun, the maximum temperature fell by 12.3 degrees in the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature on wednesday was 29.0 degrees, which came down to 16.7 degrees on Thursday. According to meteorologists, uttarakhand is experiencing widespread rain and snowfall due to the effect of western disturbance.

Snowfall continues from badrinath to Hemkund.

Heavy snowfall has been recorded in badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, auli, Lal Mati, Nanda Ghunti, Gorson, Niti and Mana valleys. At the same time, kedarnath Dham has been experiencing continuous snowfall for the last two days. There has been about half a feet of fresh snowfall in the Dham, due to which the total thickness of the snow has become about one and a quarter feet. Light snowfall has also been observed in the upper regions of Chopta, Kalishila, Gaundhar, Toshi and Triyuginarayan.

The effect of rain was also seen in the plains and intermediate areas. Due to rain in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarkashi, Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, almora and nainital districts, the temperature has dropped drastically. Normal life has been affected due to the continuous rain.
