

CM Yogi's eye on this big problem of UP!
In view of the problem of floods in Uttar Pradesh during the rainy season, cm Yogi Adityanath has given instructions for its permanent solution. Under this, the local conditions of the river will be studied. While reviewing the flood related projects on Friday, cm Yogi said that wherever there is excess of silt in the main stream of the river, the river is shallow, dredging should be given priority and the river should be channelized. If dredging is not possible to solve the problem, then only embankment or other anti-erosion measures should be adopted.
While reviewing the ongoing preparations in view of flood management and safety of public life with senior officials of the government level, the chief minister also reviewed the updated status of flood-sensitive/sensitive districts, completed and pending projects. cm Yogi Adityanath directed that proper information about the local conditions should be obtained by conducting drone survey of all the rivers.
Instructions for permanent solution to the problem of floods
The chief minister said that the well-planned efforts made in the last 8 years for a permanent solution to the problem of floods, which has been a cause of widespread loss of life and property in the state for decades, have yielded good results. There has been an unprecedented reduction in the number of highly sensitive districts from the point of view of floods. As per the advice of experts, we have succeeded in minimizing the danger from floods by using the latest technology. Good work has been done in coordination with the departments to protect life from floods.
In the meeting, the Principal Secretary Irrigation apprised the chief minister that giving top priority to the safety of life and property, 1575 flood projects have been completed from 2018-19 till now. Out of these, 305 projects have been completed in the year 2024-25 alone. These efforts have benefited 4.97 lakh hectares of land and a population of 60.45 lakh. The chief minister directed that the remaining work of the projects fixed for the current session should be completed within the stipulated time on priority basis.
