Delhi minister ravindra Indraj reached 'Asha kiran Home'!

delhi Government's Social Welfare minister ravindra Indraj Singh today visited 'Asha kiran Home' located in Avantika area of Rohini. This home is a dedicated shelter for intellectually disabled persons, which is run by the Social Welfare Department. The minister inspected the condition of care and facilities of the disabled children living here and assured all possible assistance for their welfare. During this, the Secretary of the Social Welfare Department and other senior officials were also present.

The minister inspected the medical facilities

minister ravindra Indraj Singh closely inspected the medical wards, rehabilitation centers, pharmacy, mental health treatment room, occupational therapy and physiotherapy centers. He met the doctors, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), rehabilitation experts and other staff and inquired about the health, treatment and admission processes of the children. He directed all the concerned officials to ensure better medical, nutritional and rehabilitation services to the residents of Asha kiran Home.

Appreciated the skills of the children

The minister saw the bags, sewing products, block printing, candle making, clay modeling, diya and jewellery making works being made by the children and praised their creativity. He said that Divyang children are also no less than anyone in skill, if they get the right guidance and resources, they can move forward with their talent.

Inspection of the kitchen and satisfaction on the quality of food

The minister also inspected the cleanliness of the kitchen and the quality of food. He himself tasted the food prepared there and appreciated its taste and nutrition level. He said that high quality food is being prepared in the kitchen, due to which the residents are getting adequate nutrition.

Concern over the problem of more residents than capacity

The current capacity of Asha kiran Home is 570 residents, but 756 Divyang persons have been kept here, which is a big challenge. The minister said that the government will soon take steps to solve this problem, so that everyone can get better facilities. minister Indraj said that in the year 2024, 13 adults and 1 child died in Asha Kiran, after which an inquiry was ordered. He said that the issue has been taken seriously and improvements will be made to prevent such incidents in future.
